2010 has been a good year for McDonalds happy meal toys in the US. Transformers, Bakugan, Hot Wheels, Star Wars, Batman and Marvel Heroes have been some of the best promotions targeting boys. While girls have been treated to iCarly, Madame Alexander, My Little Pony, Barbie, Littlest Pet Shop, Strawberry Shortcake toys and Hello Kitty Watches.
McDonalds have also promoted happy meal toys from 4 blockbuster movies throughout the year - Shrek Forever After happy meal toys and watches, the Last Airbender, Alvin and the Chipmunks and How to Train Your Dragon.

Star Wars and iCarly
Promotion Dates: February 26 - March 18
8 McDonalds Star Wars happy meal toys featuring 4 Treasure Keepers with bag clips and 4 Starship Launchers with key launchers. And for girls 8 McDonalds iCarly accessory toys including a laptop and tote bag.
How to Train Your Dragon
Promotion Dates: March 19 - April 22
8 McDonalds Dragon 3D happy meal toys to collect each featuring a different character from the movie with push button action.
Hot Wheels Battle Force 5 and Barbie Mermaid Tale
Promotion Dates: April 23 - May 13
6 McDonalds Hot Wheels Battle Force 5 happy meal toys based on the animated TV series. The driver springs from the vehilce on depression of a lever. In the McDonalds Barbie A Mermaid Tale happy meal toys promotion aimed at girls one of 6 McDonalds Barbie mermaid or accessory toys were given away.
Shrek Forever After
Promotion Dates: May 14 - June 10
8 character-themed toys McDonalds Shrek Forever After 3D movie happy meal toys. Each toy featuring a different character and says up to three signature phrases.
Shrek Forever After Watches
Promotion Dates: June 11 - June 24
A two week promotion with 4 McDonalds Shrek Forever After watches featuring Donkey, Shrek, Gingy and Puss in Boots.
The Last Airbender
Promotion Dates: June 25 - July 22
12 McDonalds character-inspired plastic toys from The Last Airbender movie in 3D featuring characters such as Sokka, Aang and Katara. Each toy came with its own McDonalds Last Airbender Character Card.
Marvel Heroes and the Littlest Pet Shop
Promotion Dates: July 23 - August 19
8 McDonalds Marvel Heroes figurines featuring best loved characters such as Spider-man, Iron Man, Hulk, Wolverine. For girls the promotion included 8 Littlest Pet Shop happy meal toys each with its own little carry basket
Batman The Brave and the Bold and Madame Alexander
Promotion Dates: August 20 - September 16
The McDonalds Batman The Brave and the Bold happy meal toy set for 2010 included 8 Batman toys including the Batmobile, Batman, The Joker, Plastic Man and Aqua Man. Girls were given McDonalds Madame Alexander happy meal toys featuring fairytales such as Hansel and Gretel and Little Red Riding Hood.
McDonalds Star Wars Clone Wars Fingerboards and Strawberry Shortcake Happy Meal Toys
Promotion Dates: September 17 - October 14
9 McDonalds Star Wars Clone Wars mini skateboards or fingerboards each featuring a different Clone Wars character. Each McDonalds Star Wars toy came with its own stick-on tattoo. Girls were given one of 6 McDonalds Strawberry Shortcake scented dolls each with its own branded accessory.
Halloween Pails Mr Potato Head 2010
Promotion Dates:October 15 - October 28
Two different McDonalds Halloween pails that come with decorative stickers featuring Mr Potato Head were promoted for two weeks in October 2010.
Megamind
Promotion Dates: October 29 - November 25
8 McDonalds Megamind happy meal toys featuring characters from the Megamind movie. Each toy has a different gimmick.
Transformers and Sanrio Hello Kitty Watches 2010
Promotion Dates: November 26 - December 16
6 McDonalds Transformers happy meal toys featuring characters such as Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron. Girls received one of 6 McDonalds Sanrio Hello Kitty watches featuring a cute Hello Kitty character.
Bakugan Gundalian Invaders and Only Hearts Pets 2010
Promotion Dates: December 17 -
6 McDonalds Bakugan Battle Brawlers in three different colors along with Swayther and Jetkor battle gear that they can be connected to. 12 plush McDonalds Only Hearts Pets for girls were distributed.
