All About Eva

We've seen the closet of Vivre founder Eva Jeanbart-Lorenzotti in Domino magazine and all over the internet but not many photos of the rest of the apartment.  I recently came across a few on the blog of the Vintage and Modern blog that had me searching for more.  Turns out it was photographed for a magazine called Grund Genug.  The photos are a little dark and moody but you can still see some of the fabulous furniture and those amazing floors. I don't have the story so I can't give you any details.  I'm surprised that one of the American shelter magazines haven't shot it yet.  It would be fun to see more of it besides the enviable closet.

Bastian of Chic

I don't attend any men's fashion shows but if there was one I did decide to attend, it would be Michael Bastian.  I love his modern take on preppy male clothing.  His chic style also extends to his West Village apartment.  You might remember it from the September 2008 issue of Domino magazine.  It still looks just as good more than two years later and he is often still photographed at home.  Most recently for Esquire magazine who has profiled the debonair designer for their March 2011 issue.  There is even a blog dedicated to the designer entitled My Affair with Michael Bastian.  It's one thing to write a blog.  It's quite another to have someone write one dedicated to you.  Wonder if the author attends the fashion show.

Chic Design Reality Show Scoop

I really don't like design shows on television. If I see one more messy house or piece of painted plywood furniture, I'm going to go postal! That's why I was excited to hear that some of our favorite designing divas are currently shooting a pilot for what they are touting as a "chic design reality show." Former Domino editor Sara Ruffin Costello and former House & Garden editor Kim Gieske, who also do design work, will pull back the curtain on the design world of New York which will include appearances by their equally chic friends including Celerie Kemble, Cynthia Frank and Lucy Sykes. No word yet if their designer friend Miles Redd has agreed to be join the reality show realm but I am definitely keeping my fingers crossed! I bet he'd be fun to watch! I do know that they will be shooting at Sara's show stopping townhouse in the West Village, seen here, and at ICFF so if you see some chic design people being filmed, make sure you say hello!
